German-based ODR Technologie Services GmbH (ODR TSG) has selected Orckit-Corrigent to provide a new packet transport network.
The Israeli-based firm will provide the company MPLS and MPLS-TP based CM-4000 PTN switches and the accompanying CM-View network management system.
"Orckit-Corrigent's solutions successfully meet our overall requirements, especially our need for migration possibilities of our existing SDH network,” Bernhard Palm, CEO of the company, said in a statement.
“Together with 3M Services support, we look forward to providing our subscribers with higher capacities and various advanced new features like Sync-E or EOAM,” Sebastian Ams, a project manager at the company, added in the statement carried on Network Packet Broker.
Orckit-Corrigent’s CM-4000 portfolio offers small, medium and large-capacity Packet Transport Network switches that provide Ethernet, SDH and PDH services for a unified packet network. The products are used for residential, business and mobile backhauling services in next-generation telecom networks.
“Telecommunication infrastructure deployed by utility companies requires advanced packet and legacy TDM services and this combination is something our technologies and products are perfectly suited for,” Izhak Tamir, chairman of Orckit Communications, said in the statement.
Orckit-Corrigent's products include Packet Transport Network (PTN) switches, which is an MPLS and MPLS-TP dual-stack portfolio.
Started in 1990, Orckit-Corrigent has been providing products and services to Asia, the Pacific and Africa, Western and Eastern Europe, and the United States.
For instance, last year Cable Color, a telecommunication service provider in Honduras, selected Orckit-Corrigent's IP/MPLS and MPLS-TP based CM-4000 PTN switches and the accompanying CM-View network management system, Network Packet Broker reported. They were to be used for networking for broadband and enterprise VPN services.
In addition, last year, K-net Telekommunikation, a German telecom service provider, selected Orckit-Corrigent’s MPLS based CM-4000 PTN switches and CM-View network management system, Network Packet Broker added.
